Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Chapman, age 92, of Meriden, Kansas passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 in Topeka. Betty was born December 13, 1928 in San Diego, CA the daughter of Lewis and Martha (Biggs) Barnes. After her parents died, she moved to Meriden and was raised by her grandmother. She married Earl Chapman on November 16, 1946. He preceded her in death. Betty worked for Meriden USD #340 School District for over 40 years, as a custodian. She also worked as a waitress at the Family Room in Meriden and at Maxmart in Meriden. Betty was a devoted Meriden resident, working in the community wherever she was needed. She was a member of the Meriden VFW. Betty is survived by three daughters, six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, and one on the way.

Private funeral services will be Wednesday at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Tuesday, January 5, 2020 from noon – 7:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.
