Mt. Juliet, TN - Carlene Anderson Hill, age 93, passed away January 1, 2021 from COVID-19 complications. She was born in Little Lot, Tennessee to Arch Anderson and Grace Sanders Anderson who precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Hill; son, James Michael Hill; and her beloved dog, Bailey. Carleen was raised and spent most of her life in Memphis, Tennessee. She moved to Nashville in 2010 to be closer to her daughter, grandsons and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Shelley Harwell (Bill) and her two grandsons, Raleigh Harwell (Amy) and Alex Harwell (Susan). She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Maida, Hannah, Lily, Owen and Billy. Carlene was retired from the Internal Revenue Service where she was an Executive Secretary. She loved line dancing to country music, playing cards to win (especially with great-grandchildren), completing crossword puzzles and reading. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She always had a twinkle in her eye and a sweetness in her smile. She will be greatly missed. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date when it is safe to gather. Memorials may be made to Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary, 12110 Lebanon Road, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee 37122.
