He was president of Win-Vent Architectural Window Inc., Butler, MO. He was a member of the Mirza Shrine Temple, Pittsburg, KS, and the Scottish Rite Consistory, Fort Scott, KS. He was an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Garrett, Fort Scott, KS; son, Robert K. Garrett Jr., Overland Park, KS; three daughters, Vicki Sauerwein, Fort Scott, KS; Cindy Key; Fort Scott, KS; Norma Jean Brock, Hartville, MO; his mother, Anna Mae Garrett, Independence, MO; brother, Leslie P. Garret, Independence, MO; three sisters, Joyce Garrett, Independence, MO; Lucille Riley, Liberty, MO; Dorthy Burch, Helendale, California; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at the Park Lawn Chapel with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
The family suggests contributions to the Shriners Crippled Children's Transportation Fund.
