Brian Keith Ward passed away the morning of Dec. 26, 2020, at his home in Fairbanks, Alaska.
He was born in Anchorage on July 19, 1978, to Inupiat parents, adopted as an infant by Graham and Mary Ann Ward, and raised in Glennallen. There, he attended school and was active in music and hockey. He graduated as co-valedictorian and later took numerous courses at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He worked in catering at Westmark Hotel in Fairbanks for a few years and then returned to Glennallen to help run the family's RV park. Recently, Brian spent winters in Texas taking part in Lions Club activities and singing in the church choir while helping his elderly parents.
Brian is survived by his parents, now of Boerne, Texas, and his sister, Hillary Blender, and her three children, Anthony Kline, Gypsie Blender and Skyler Blender, all of Fairbanks. Brian was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of his life will be held in Glennallen next spring.
