Bruce was born May 13, 1947, in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Keurst) Ferguson.
Bruce was a music lover of all kinds. In his late teens, he was a bass player in a band, known for competing and winning the 'Battle of the Bands' contests! He proudly served his country from 1966-1968 in the Vietnam War as a Sergeant E-5, HHC 1st Battalion 20th Infantry 11th LIP, Americal Dion. Bruce started his own cleaning business, which was very successful and he was very proud of that! He was a hard-working man and always provided for his family, no matter what. Bruce was always doing things for others. He would give the shirt off of his back. One of his biggest dreams was to own and ride a Harley Davidson and that dream came true a few years ago! Bruce loved to travel. In the last five years, he went to Hawaii, Punta Cana and Riviera Maya! Upon returning home from Vietnam, Bruce almost immediately met the love of his life, Marcia Jane Stokes. They were married on January 18, 1969. Marcia passed away in 2010.
They had two children, Tonya (Aaron) Jane Anderson and Richard Brian Ferguson. Bruce is survived by, brother-in-law, Jerry Stokes; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Ferguson; brother, Steve Ferguson and brother-in-law, Tracy Stokes.
Cremation rites have been accorded at East Lawn Funeral Home.
A memorial service will beheld in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
