Matthew Kirby Summers, 31, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020. He was born on October 5, 1989 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Kevin A. and Mary Kay (Julian) Summers.

He graduated from Bishop Chatard High School in 2006 and attended Wabash College and Purdue University. He worked in the restaurant industry before joining Hubler Automotive as a sales associate. He enjoyed golf, cooking, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his loving parents, Kevin and Kay Summers; brother, Chuck (Emily) Summers; grandfather, Kirby Julian; nephews, Tommy and Alexander Summers; and girlfriend, Malorie McDole.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Catherine Julian and paternal grandparents, Charles and Betty Summers.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, where a rosary service will be held at 6:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Joseph Newton on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4217 Central Ave., Indianapolis IN 46205. Prayers will be said at the funeral home prior to Mass at 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a show of support via a donation to the Herren Project in Matthew's honor.
