Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home

Jacqueline Ann Weiler Jenkins was born on January 7, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Utah State University where she met her husband, Karl Dee Jenkins. Jackie and Karl married on August 26, 1959 at the Lion House in Salt Lake City.
She was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she was a faithful member and worker in her beloved primary programs.
Jackie was a committed and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a homemaker, a peacemaker, and dedicated football, baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, swimming, cheerleading, scouting and theater aficionado, always on the sidelines or in the seats/stands cheering on her boys or grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed her almost 15 years of service as a volunteer at Longview Regional Hospital and only stepped away from this due to health concerns. Jackie loved to travel and she and Karl had many adventures in retirement which included Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Alaska, Canada, the Caribbean, and more.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Lily Weiler, her sister and brother-on-law, Camilla and Scott Gallagher, and her son, Dr. David Karl Jenkins.
Survived by her husband of 61 years, Karl Dee Jenkins, her daughter-in-law, Sandra Jenkins, her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Michael and Kimberly Jenkins, her son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Heather Jenkins, her grandchildren, Chelsea and Steven Christopher, Courtney Jenkins, Kyle and Dr. Alex Jenkins, Lindsey Jenkins, Cody Jenkins, Lily Jenkins, Amberly Jenkins, Logan Jenkins, great grandchildren Beau Christopher and Bella Christopher, and a church full of dear and loving friends.
The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to Jackie's loving caregiver, Teressa Anderson, and the phenomenally caring and compassionate staff of Heart's Way Hospice. We could not have navigated the last few weeks without all of you.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Kelsey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Heart's Way Hospice, P.O. Box 5608, Longview, TX 75608.
