Robert D. "Bud" Cummings of Steelville, Missouri was born on Sunday, January 27, 1929 in Hadley, Indiana to the union of Otto L. and Lena P. (Weaver) Cummings. He left from this life on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Steelville Senior Living in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 91 years.

Bud was united in marriage to Lorettia "Lea" Jones and to this union three children were born Gail, Rob and Robin.

Bud honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He worked for Brown Shoe Company and Meramec Industries for several years as a Trail and Sample Man. He and Lea owned and operated the One Stop Shop in Steelville and he finished his working career at Steelville R-3 High School.

Bud served the community as a member of the Steelville Fire Protection District. He loved to go fishing, flying, collecting antiques and building grandfather clocks.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents Otto L. and Lena P. (Weaver) Cummings; wife Lorettia "Lea" (Jones) Cummings; one daughter Gail Johnston; one sister Beverly Guthrie; longtime companion Mary Rasnick.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his two children Rob and wife Mary Cummings of Steelville, Missouri, Robin McCoy of Washington, Missouri; eight brothers and sisters Betta Cassidy of Steelville, Missouri, Nora Hawkins of Chandler, Oklahoma, Catherine "Katie" Umberger of Fairfax, South Dakota, Joy Crocker of Viburnum, Missouri, Lura "Tiny" Reeves of Cuba, Missouri, Eileen Roberts of Bloomington, Illinois, Albert "Butch" Cummings of Holts Summit, Missouri, Ronald Cummings of Sullivan, Missouri; grandfather of six, great-grandfather of nine, great-great-grandfather of two, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Martin, officiating.. Interment with full military honors will follow at Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.
