Roy Lavern Bailey, 88 years old, passed away December 31, 2020, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born November 8, 1932 at the family home, in Turner, Missouri to Herbert and Alice (Clubb) Bailey. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Beatie on August 19, 1961.
Roy proudly served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War. He then worked for City Utilities of Springfield for 38 years. He loved to travel and took each of his grandchildren on a trip anywhere in the United States that they wanted to go.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Shirley, two daughters Connie Scott and husband Mike; and Carolyn Boyd and husband Ron; grandchildren, Katherine Groce and husband Joseph, Chase Boyd, Kristyn Scott, and Dustin Boyd; great-grandsons Judah, Maddex, and Philip Groce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Harvey Bailey; and a sister Lucille Degeneffe.
Burial with full military honors will follow at Palmetto Cemetery, Rogersville
