Cora May Lawson-Shirck died on Sunday, July 23, 1944 at her home at 5 Shipping Place, Dundalk, Maryland. She was 69 years of age. Cora was born in May 1876 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania to Simon James Lawson and Sarah Jane Knight-Lawson. She moved with her family to Atchison, Kansas in 1880 when Cora was five years old. In May 1906, Cora was married to Fredrick Ross Shirck, a Lutheran minister. Cora is survived by her daughter, Rachel Shirck. Cora May's funeral services were held on Wednesday July 26, 1944 and she was buried in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Rachel was married in Cuyahoga County, Ohio to Robert Willard Skeggs. Their family included two sons, Robert Jonathan Skeggs and Willard Ross Skeggs. Rachel and Robert lived in Ohio where they both died.
