DeWayne S. Appleby passed to "That House Not Made By Hands" on January 1 2021, from complication of Multiple Myeloma. DeWayne was the second son born Jan. 29, 1940 in Lander to Edward Appleby Sr. and Sarah Appleby. Edward Jr. and Gary completed the Family.

DeWayne grew up on Willow Creek and attended the school out there until the 5th grade then attended school at South Side Grade school, and FCVHS, which he was a graduate in 1958.

He married Carol Dick. From that union three Daughters were born. They were later divorced. In 1978 he married Beverlie Gibson, which he was married to for 42 years.

He worked for Black Homes then worked at US steel for over 20 years, were he was a maintenance mechanic when he retired.

DeWayne loved to camp, look for jade on his family's claims, fish and hunt with his family and spent many wonderful weekends and vacations doing just that.

He was a member and Past Master of Wyoming Lodge #2 AFAM, A33 Degree Member of the Lander Consistory having held all 4 Master positions and Co director of the reunions in Lander for many years and past Secretary. He belonged to Olivet Chapter#3 were he was Worthy Patron 4 times, two of those times with his wife Bev. Had worked with the Lander Jobs Daughter and was Past Associate Guardian of Bethel 17.

In 2012 He had the Honor of shooting on the Wyoming One Shot Team with Governor Meade and Given the Shoshone name of" Anga Go-ro-oid" which when translated means "Red Canyon" making the 2 nd earliest kill of that hunt. He also served the One Shot at the competition and Team sight- in for over 40 years.

He was a member of Battery "A" 349th Field

Artillery and later the 1022nd Combat Engineers Battalion from Lander. He fulfilled his obligation at Fort Lewis when the Wall went up dividing Germany. Returning to Lander to Live. He was a member of the American Legion, the NRA and US Steel Workers.

He is survived by his Wife Bev, Three Daughters, Terry Appleby of Atlantic City, Barbara (Don) Ashby of Lander and Christine (Kevin) Horak of Heyburn, ID. Five Grand Children, John Appleby of Casper, LeAnn Hastings of Laramie, Michael Deking of Nevada, Devin Deking of Nevada and Melissa DeKing of Idaho.

And Great Grandson Hunter Appleby of Colorado, God Daughter, Taylor Romans of Lander and several cousins, Aunt, Margaret Appleby and many Friends.

He was proceeded in Death by His Parents, Ed and Sarah Appleby, Grandparents, Dutch and Leone Appleby, Great Grandson Ty Appleby, God Daughter Addison Romans and both brothers, Ed Jr. and Gary.

Following cremation, services will be 10am, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church at 3 rd and Washakie in Lander with inurnment at Mt Hope Cemetery with Wyoming Lodge #3 AF&AM, and the American Legion.
