Our beloved, father, and grandfather, Carlos Emelio Mondragon, passed away October 8, 2007 in West Valley City, Utah.

He was born October 9, 1915 in Rancho De Taos, New Mexico to Rosalio and Todocita Romero Mondragon. He married Lupe Esquibel, October 5, 1938. Carlos was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Magna. Carlos loved the outdoors and was a expert hunter and fisherman. He was active in sports in his youth and played basketball and ran track. The one thing he will be known for is his kind and gentle disposition.

Survived by his children, Donna (Paul) Chavez, Cecilia Vasquez Ramirez, Carlos (Ann) Mondragon Jr., Billy (Alecia) Mondragon, Andy (Lola) Mondragon, Keith (Roberta) Mondragon, and Michelle Rasmussen; grandchildren, Tamara (Chance) Elsbury, Gilbert (Lisa) Vasquez, Sonya (Pete) Paletta, Antionette Lisonbee, Carlos (Maria) Mondragon III, Kirt (Tonie) Mondragon, Barry Mondragon, Brandon (Colette) Mondragon, Gina Mondragon, Billy (Becky) Mondragon Jr., Matthew (Nancy) Mondragon, Christie Mondragon, Jeff (Denise) Mondragon, Randy (Lori) Mondragon, John Mondragon, Andrew Mondragon, Nicholas Mondragon, Tammie Maldonado, Angela (Joe) Valdez, Misty (Alberto) Vazquez, Kyle Martinez, Amber Mondragon, Aaron Mondragon, Danielle Sanchez, Miranda (Dan Newton) Mondragon, Randi (Marcus) Klug, Nolan Rasmussen, Sanshae Rasmussen, Sid Rasmussen; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Amadio, John, and Lolo Mondragon. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Lupe, parents; daughter, Berghita Martinez; five sisters; one brother; sons-in-law, Gilbert Vasquez and Jose Ramirez.

A visitation will be held 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2840 South 9000 West, with a prayer service to follow Wednesday at 7 p.m. A visitation will be held 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 at the church with Funeral Mass beginning at 10 a.m.
Committal, Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
