Carole Norton Rogers, 84, of Center, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 31, 2020 in her home in Center, Texas. She was born on November 19, 1936in New York City, New York to the late Lee and Mavis Norton.

Carole graduated high school in Houston, Texas. She later attended Stephen F. Austin State University and obtained abachelor’s degree in Education to become a teacher. She went on to teach English and theatre in Diboll, Center and Shelbyville, Texas. She later obtained a master’s degree in education and became a diagnostician with Nacogdoches County Schools Co-op, serving kids in all the Nacogdoches County schools.

Carole met the love of her life, Dr. John C. Rogers, while she was living in Diboll, Texas. They married and enjoyed 48 yearsof life and adventures together. They made their home in Center and raised seven children together. She was active in The First Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher and a choir member. She loved to learn and always tried to be the best at anything she did. She loved sewing and stitching and made beautiful clothes, including her daughter’s wedding dress. She stitched many beautiful felted and sequined Christmas ornaments, beautiful needlepoints, and countless cross stitch pieces that she gave as gifts to friends and family. She loved playing bridge with her many close friends and they were always searching, “for a fourth”. Her favorite place to be when away from home was the beach. And wherever she was, she loved great food, laughing, having her beloved dachshunds by her side, and correcting the grammar of her devoted husband, kids and anyone else who knew her. She loved diamonds and all things that sparkled. We know she is now enjoying the brilliant sights before her eyes as she basks in the glory of Heaven.
