Suzanne C. Smith, age 77 passed away December 29, 2020 in Arcadia, FL. She was born on March 8, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Jack and Irma Pattishall.
She moved to our area with her family at age nine and lived here since. Suzanne was of the Baptist faith.
Suzanne was a very loving, kind and wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, she enjoyed taking care of them or helping with whatever they needed.
After graduating high school she become a teacher’s aide last working for ARC of DeSoto County. Suzanne had a huge passion for horses, belonging to the All Florida Saddle Club, DeSoto County Sheriff’s Mounted Poss-etts and enjoyed working cows with her husband. She enjoyed anything outdoors from mowing her yard to cleaning her barn, or simply fishing.
She is survived by two children; daughter Kerry L. Smith and son Bucky Joe Smith both of Arcadia, FL.; one sister Marion Smith of Punta Gorda, FL.; two grandchildren Tyler Smith and Ashton Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, husband Marvin Royce “Runt” Smith; one brother Earl Smith and three sisters Meta Brown, Carolyn Sullivan and Margie Leiter.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia.
Funeral Services will be Monday, January 4, 2021 at the chapel at 11:00am with Rev. D.R. Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Joshua Creek Cemetery, Arcadia
