Robert Richard Wooten Home will conduct services at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Lakewood Baptist Church in Powderly with the Rev. Jerry Moore and the Rev. Jim Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Deport. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Wooten was born July 6, 1927, in Fort Worth to Roosevelt and Leta Faye Hawkins Wooten. He married Stella Patterson Aug. 28, 1986, in Direct. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 39 years and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. He served in the Army during World War II. Surviving are his wife; his mother who lives in Alvin; two sons, Robert Wooten II of Powderly and Bobby Stanford of Irving; two daughters, Vicki Zimmer and Kathy Dees, both of Burleson; two brothers, Thomas Wooten of Rendon and Glenn Wooden of Granbury; a sister, Jo Ann Jolly of Alvin; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dick Cordes, Junior Vanderburg, Fred Cole, Kenneth Sanders, Joe Sanders and Carl Wood. Honorary bearers will be Steve Ladd, Travis Gaines, Tom Revelie, Jimmy Smyers, Gary Riffle and Danny Smallwood.
