NORTH HAVERHILL, N.H. George Edward Applebee, 87, of Carolina Acres, died Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at the home of his son, Carroll Applebee, in Lexington after an extended illness.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ricker Funeral Home Chapel in North Haverhill, N.H., by the Rev. Joseph Rinaldi. Burial will be in Horsemeadow Cemetery in North Haverhill.
Mr. Applebee was born Jan. 28, 1912, in Carroll, N.H., to George Wellington Applebee and Gertrude Clement Applebee. He was retired from Northeast Hardwoods in Haverhill. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Bennett Applebee, in 1957 and his second wife, Maybel Thornton Applebee, who died in 1973. He had been living in Lexington since September 1998.
Surviving, in addition to the son of Lexington, are another son, Vincent E. Applebee of Denton; two daughters, Ruby Davison of Newberry, Vt., and Rose Socha of Stafford Springs, Conn.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Willis Applebee of North Haverhill; and two sisters, Emily Cross of North Haverhill and Katherine Pickard of Exeter, N.H.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 Friday night at Ricker Funeral Home in Woodsville, N.H.
