Mr. Paul Richard Snyder, age 70, of Sidney passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was the loving father to Lesley (Snyder) Hobby and “Papaw” to his three grandchildren, Evan, Samuel and Lucas Hobby. He was born on November 26, 1950 to the late James Grant and Mary Rosalie (Brown) Snyder in Union City, IN.

He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Lesley and Brandon Hobby of McKinney, Texas; his siblings and their spouses, Carolyn and Thaddeus Shore of Williamsburg, Virginia, Mark and Barbara Snyder of Greenville, Ohio, John and Paula Snyder of Greenville, Ohio, and Janet and Tom Farrell of Merritt Island, Florida; his three grandchildren, Evan, Samuel and Lucas Hobby of McKinney, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 1969. He attended Mount Vernon Nazarene College in Mount Vernon, Ohio and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL with a degree in business administration in 1973. Paul retired from Sherwin Williams in 2012 where he managed the Sidney Sherwin Williams store from 1979-2012. After retirement, he returned to the company as a part-time employee at the Greenville, Ohio Sherwin Williams store. In total, he had over 45 years of service with Sherwin WIlliams. Paul was a born-again christian. He was a member of the Sidney First Church of the Nazarene for over 40 years. During those years, he was very active in the church serving on the church board and performing other various roles. He was an avid sports fan, always watching football, baseball and basketball. Paul was a member of several bowling leagues over his lifetime and received numerous awards.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Sidney First Church of the Nazarene, 1899 N. Wapakoneta Dr., Sidney, Ohio. The memorial service will immediately follow at 7:00pm. To honor the numerous years Paul worked for Sherwin Williams, the family requests those in attendance to wear colorful clothing to represent the many colors he created over the years. The family asks all visitors to follow CDC guidelines of social distancing and wearing masks.

For those who cannot attend in person, live streaming will be available on YouTube at “Sidney First Naz”. A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at New Lisbon Cemetery near Union City, IN.
