Dorothy Maxine Carter passed away on December 31,2020 at her home in Kansas City,Clay County,Mo. at the age of 84.She was born on September 27,1936 to William F. and Velma A. (Huffstutter) Ferguson in Pattonsburg, Daviees County,Mo.She grew up there graduating from Pattonsburg High School.
On June 19 ,1954 She married Jack N.Carter in Daviees County,Mo.Of this union they had 7 children.Jack preceded her in death on December 15,2006.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents,3 sons Charles.Danny and Dennis Carter,two grandsons Dustin Rupard and Jeffery Carter ll, one great granddaughter Aubrey Rupard and 9 of her siblings.
She is survived by her children Marilyn Carter KC.Mo.,Carolyn Carter KC.Mo. ,Dottie Pollard Blue Springs,Mo.and Jeffery Carter ,KC.Mo.,13 grandchildren,18 great children and sister Charlotte Rigney of Darlington ,Mo. plus many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy loved to go dancing .She also loved to crochet,do crossword puzzles play cards and jigsaw puzzles. She was an amazing cook,able to whip up something from nothing.
Her early years were spent raising her family close to McFall and Pattonsburg. In the 60's,they moved the family to Kansas City.Eventually moving to Kansas City North to settle.
She worked at National Bellas Hess,Jefferson Smurf and National Carton Folding Co.
