Maxine “Pat” Scott, 90, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

She was born in Cherryville, N.C., on June 1, 1930, to Goldis Odell Seagle and Mazel Faye Neal. She was also preceded in death by her husband, C.L. “Buddy” Scott; sister, Geraldine Mayberry; son, Steven Scott; and daughter, Linda Miller.

Pat was employed at Hawkins Drug Store (where she met her husband), and was a member of Iredell County REACT, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Winnebago International Travelers.

She was the sweetest, kindest woman that loved chihuahuas, camping, gardening, crafting, taking all the money at bingo, and whose Sunday chicken n’ dumplings (with garden trimmings) would make you slap your mama!

She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Atwell; eight grandchildren, including C. Neil Scott, Christina Miller, Angela Miller, David Miller, and Anthony Miller, 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service held at Iredell Memorial Park on Monday, January 4, 2021, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Planned Parenthood, or the Humane Society.

Reavis Funeral Home of Statesville is serving the family.
