It is with deep sadness to report that Leslie (Les) Turner “Cross the Bar” (Passed Away) on Wednesday morning 30 December 2020 at the Philadelphia VA Hospital after a long series of medical challenges. Les was a Navy Vet and served in Korea during the Korean Conflict.

For many years Les was a Mechanic and for over twenty (20) years he was a Supervisor at a Golf Cart Manufacturer, Ezgo Golf Carts, until the company moved to Texas.

Les joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary in April of 1999 with his wife, Joyce, joining two (2) years later. She continues to serve in multiple Flotilla Staff Officer Positions and as a Vessel Examiner and certified in the Marine Visitation Program. Joyce is also a past Division Commander.

Les became a Vessel Examiner early on in his membership and Boat Crew Certified. He served in the elected positions as Vice Flotilla Commander, Commander, and as Vice Division Commander and Division Commander, then known as Division Captain. Les conducted hundreds of Vessel Examinations over the years along with hundreds of Public Affairs hours including his PA booth at Indian Acres Maryland where they had their summer home and kept their boat. Most recently he had been serving as the FSO-VE and FSO-MS. Les’s enthusiasm and dedication for the Auxiliary was immeasurable and will be missed!

Les is survived by his wife, Joyce, four children, Carol, Les Jr., Ken, and Steve, “many grand children and great grand kids.” Les will be interred at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Bucks County, PA. The Service and interment date to be announced.
