She was retired from the City of Hinesville after 18 years of service. She attended Westside Baptist Church before moving to Savannah. She was very active in the VFW, was the first president of the Ladies Auxiliary in the Hinesville Chapter, and enjoyed volunteering in local nursing homes. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Pippin. She is survived by her children, Fred Thomas, III, of Florida, and Cindy lee of Hinesville; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Lilla Reynolds (Lloyd) of Jesup and Eva Knueppel (Paul) of Vance, SC; and best friend and companion, Fred Thomas, Sr.
