Sylvia Sue Thompson, 88, of Palatka, Florida passed from this life on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Putnam Community Medical Center passed from this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Jacksonville, Florida, coming from Atlanta and had been a resident of Putnam County for more than 16 years. An Executive Secretary by trade, Sylvia was a phenomenal water color and oil painting artist, a talented singer and dancer, incredible woman, loving, caring and generous. She was of the Christian faith.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Willis.

Sylvia is survived by a son, Mark Willis, a daughter, Teri Willis, brothers, Sam Shuman, Richard Shuman, sisters, Rachael Wisniewsky, Mary Ann Anderson, grandchildren, Cheyenne Sue Willis, Kolbie Jean Willis, Carlton Lee Willis, and her companion of 15 years, Michael Patt.

Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Jim Price officiating. Burial will be occur at Jacksonville Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of service.
