Marie Allison, age 84, passed away after a very long illness on December 23, 2020 at her daughter’s home under the care of her family and hospice.

Marie was born on July 17, 1936 in Ogdensburg, NY to the late Melville and Mayfred (Burlingame) Veitch.

She graduated from Waddington High School in 1955. She later completed training as a certified home health aide. For 15 years she successfully cared for many sick and elderly people in their own homes.

Marie was a member of the Waddington Fire Department Auxiliary. In her free time, Marie enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, bowling, and spending time with her granddaughters. In her later years, she was fortunate to travel. Marie loved the St. Lawrence River and living in Waddington with her sister and longtime friends. She had fond memories of her childhood days swimming along the banks of the river at her grandmother’s house. Marie was a fun and loving grandmother, mother, sister, and aunt. She will be dearly missed by us all.

Surviving is her twin sister Catherine Dancause of Waddington; a daughter, Marilyn (Mark) Wurth of Rexford, NY; two granddaughters Rachel and Kristen Wurth; and niece Janet (Michael) O’Brian and nephew Dale Dancause. She is predeceased by her daughter Susan Berry and her husband Thomas Allison.

Interment in Brookside Cemetery in Waddington.
