Larry was born April 9, 1960 in Muleshoe, Texas to Bill Joe and Alice Muse (Breland) Curry. He was raised by very faithful parents, his dad was a Baptist preacher and Larry learned to lead and how to serve by the example that was set for him by his dad and older brothers. He met Amanda Darlene Stillwell while they were attending Wayland Baptist University. They were married on November 24, 1979. He was a farmer and rancher early in his career in the Turkey/Lakeview area. Later he became a salesman in the surrounding areas and nationwide. He served as a deacon for the Memphis, Quitaque, and Plainview First Baptist Churches. He enjoyed serving others through cooking for church functions and cooking burritos for the Abernathy Annual "See You at the Pole". Spending time with his grandkids at the lake, golfing, or riding four wheelers were some of his favorite things to do with his family. In the words of his 10 year old grandson, "Papa never met a stranger, he made friends everywhere he went, and there was never a repeat", meaning he was constantly making new friends. Whether he was eating alone, taking the grandkids out to eat, or bringing sides to a family function the Cast Iron Grill was his go-to for food and friendship.

He was preceded in death by his wife Amanda Curry, his parents Bill and Alice Curry and a brother Eddy Curry.

Survivors include his sons, Jonathan Curry and wife Carolyn of Abernathy, Levi Curry and wife Shana of Abernathy; his brother, Danny Curry and wife Alicia of Arlington; his sister-in-law, DeeAnn Curry of Abilene; his grandchildren, Carson, Justus, Layken, Carter and Kelbi all of Abernathy.
