Duane Langenfeld, 3 1/2 year old son of Mr and Mrs Dewey Langenfield, passed away at the home of his grandparents, Mr and Mrs Joseph Langenfeld, Friday morning February 29 at 3:15, where the boy received constant care by his grandparents, parents and other relatives. He was brought home February 7, after medical aid was sought from various doctors while he was a patient at the Manning and Omaha St Catherine's Hospital. He was a victim of a rare kidney and lung disease which first became evident on December 10.
Survivors are his parents, his grandparents, and Mrs Clara Bruck of Harlan, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at St. Joseph's church at Earling and burial was at the church cemetery. The Rev. Peter A. Bissen officiated at the Mass and ceremony at the grave.
He had the privilege of receiving the sacrament of confirmation by special permission from the bishop. The Rev. Peter A Bissen conferred the sacrament on Duane.
Pallbearers were Charles Gerhard, John Huebert, Henry Olson and Gail Langenfeld.
