Dolores June (Bixler) Phillips, 89, of Indianapolis met the Lord on her birthday, December 27, 2020. She was born in Indianapolis to the late Paul and Thelma (Hinchman) Bixler, both school teachers in the Indianapolis area.

She was a graduate of Southport High School in 1948.

Dolores was married to the love of her life for 45 years to her late husband, John V. Phillips. Dolores lived on the southside of Indianapolis her entire life, before moving to Greenwood after John's passing.

Dolores enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was known to all who knew her as the "sweetest lady", and always thinking of others before herself. Dolores had a few jobs over the years, the most enjoyable was volunteering at St. Francis Hospital south campus.

Dolores is survived by her two children, John Phillips (Sharon) of Niceville, Florida and DeAndra Hobson (Brian) of Greenwood, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 1 soon arriving.

Services will be held at Southport Presbyterian Church on Monday, January 4. Visitation at 1pm, service at 2pm, followed by graveside service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
