Katie Thelma Taylor passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 29, 2020, in her home surrounded by her family. She was 88.

She was born on October 20, 1932, to parents Roscoe & Ola (Rollins) Stover in Robson, West Virginia. Katie married Robert T. Taylor on September 19, 1946, and the pair were married for 72 years until Robert’s passing in 2019.

Katie worked in the electrical department at the Flxible Company for many years until retiring.

A woman of faith, Katie was a long-time member of the Perrysville Church of God. Throughout the years she enjoyed quilting and flower gardening. She put a lot of hard work into her flower gardens, especially fond of her peonies, daffodils, and red roses. Her gardens were particularly known for her giant chicken family that resided throughout them. Katie was also an excellent cook, fruit cake and her green, brown, and baked beans among the family favorites. Most of all Katie’s specialty was being good to people and she will be dearly missed by those who love her.

She is survived by her children Montie (Cherie) Taylor of Amelia Island, FL, Kenneth Murial (Melanie) Taylor of Loudonville, and Nancy Harbin of Loudonville; eight grandchildren: Michelle (Tim) Butterball, Tara (Jason) Griffin, Asia (Andy) Van Horn, Ashley (Chris) Strong, Logan (Kenny) Flenner, Dylan Taylor, Collin Taylor, and Kendall Taylor; five great-grandchildren: Taylor Griffin, Austin Butterball, Aria Van Horn, Piper Van Horn, and Ethan Van Horn; and her siblings Janice (Richard) Bailey and Patricia (Homer) Bailey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and her sister Mary Taylor.

A graveside service will take place on Monday, January 4, 2021, at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Pastor Tom Nelson will officiate.
