Shirley Jean Lail Lambert Christopher, 76, of Lenoir, passed away on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at her residence after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Christopher was born February 20, 1944 in Valdese, a daughter of the late Carlo Peter and Dizie Bradshaw Lail.
She was a member of Abee's Grove Baptist Church and retired from Belk as a sales associate. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Hefner and two brothers, Melvin and Ray Lail.
Surviving are her husband, Gary Warren Christopher of the home, a daughter, Angela Lambert Smith and husband Doug of Shelby, a son Keith Lambert of Cherryville, and a sister Gladys Abee of Morganton. Also surviving are two grandsons, Baylen Smith and wife Brianna of Charlotte, Isaac Smith and wife Cierra of Lawndale, a great-granddaughter, Rachel Smith of Lawndale, Five Step-children and nine step-grandchildren.
A private Funeral Service for Family and close friends will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday January 1, 2021 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with Rev. Rudy Hayes officiating. Mask and social distancing will be required.
Mrs. Christopher will lie in state from 12 till 1:00 P.M. Friday for friends to view and pay respect.
