She was the oldest of 10 children (only 4 children lived to adulthood) born to Spencer & Missouri Belle Crider. She was the wife of John H. Wade. They married on December 24, 1905.
In later life she and her brother Walter lived in a little house next to Emma's daughter, Rosa Wade Collins, in West Plains, MO.
