He was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Washington, D.C.
Jack moved to Port Charlotte in 1983 from Hillandale, Md. He retired from Washington Gas Light Co. after 38 years. He served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps in World War II and Korea, was a member of American Legion Post 110 in Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his children, J. Pat Poole, Silver Spring, Md., Marie C. Poole, Kensington, Md., Charles J. Poole, Fredrick, Md.; stepchildren, Patricia A. Reeves, Port Charlotte, Richard R. Reeves, San Antonio, Texas., and R. Randy Reeves, Port Charlotte; a niece; a nephew; family caregivers, Deborah and Richard Bailey; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Poole; and son, Robert J. Poole.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Kays Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home in Port Charlotte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park, with Military Honors.
