William Gordon Mercer, WWII Veteran, POW, and RCL Branch #6 Member, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Services, Owen Sound on Thursday June 2nd, 2011 in his 88th year.
Beloved husband of Joyce Mercer (nee Kellar) for 64 years.
Cherished father of Katherine (Pam) of Indiana, and Paula (Fred) of Port Elgin.
Pre deceased by his parents Aubrey and Mary (nee Hills)
and his brother Jack and his sister Marilyn Rutherford.
Bill was an active member of the Big Brother's Association, Coordinator of the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic, and a retired RBW Employee (33 years).
Interment in Boyd Cemetery, Shallow Lake.
As an expression of sympathy donations to the Red Cross, Big Brothers, Grey Bruce Regional Health Services, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
