Clarence Eugene Hyser, Sr., age 90, of Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, died at ManorCare Health Services on Thursday, July 30, 2020. Clarence was born on Thursday, January 2, 1930, in Hanover to the late Paul Hyser, Sr. and Anna May (Miller) Sloat. In addition to his parents, Clarence is preceded in death by his daughter, Sandy (Hyser) Calaman; his grandson, Steven Calaman; his four brothers: Paul Hyser, Irvin Hyser, Richard Hyser, David Hyser; and his two sisters: Mary Morehead and Ruth Pete.

Clarence's survivors include six children: Diane Nelson and husband John of Carlisle, Cathy Emerick and husband John, Cindy Osborne of Mechanicsburg, Clarence "Sonny" Hyser, Jr. of Carlisle, Jeffrey "Jeff" Hyser and wife Kristin of Mechanicsburg, Jill Hefflefinger and husband Darryl of Bluffton, South Carolina; his 14 grandchildren; and his several great-grandchildren.

Clarence combined his passion for cars and his work ethic to found two automotive business in Mechanicsburg in 1953. He owned and operated both businesses until he sold Hyser's Service Center to his son in 1989 and sold Hyser's Towing to Henry Weber in 1999. Clarence's family remembers him as a hard worker who especially loved Corvettes.

Clarence's family will be remembering his life privately. Cremation was private.
