Mass of the Resurrection for longtime Anaconda and Butte resident Morris W. Bowman, 62, of 618 Main who died Thursday evening while cutting firewood for the family home, will be Monday at 10:30 in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. His body is in Longfellow’s Finnegan Funeral Home where the vigil service will be 7:30 Sunday. Mr. Bowman was born in Minnesota March 31, 1921, to Morris and Louise Bowman. He attended schools in Minneapolis where he graduated from high school. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and worked for the Anaconda Co. in Butte as a mining engineer. Later, he became a ventilation engineer and then transferred to Anaconda in 1967 as a environmental engineer. He retired in 1980 when the smelter shut down. Mr. Bowman was an ardent outdoorsman and was a member of the Anaconda Community Board of directors and St. Ann’s Choir In Butte. He married Anne Auman May 28, 1949, in Butte. She survives. Other survivors include sons-in-law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Brian (Kathleen) Skinner of Butte, Mr. and Mrs. Gary (Merrianne) Becker of Sacramento, California, Jill Bowman of Salt Lake City, Utah, Gail Bowman of Seattle, Washington and Kristine Bowman of Anaconda; sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bowman of New Orleans, Louisiana and Terry Bowman of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters, Betty Tutewohl and Margaret Kuntz, both of Minneapolis; mother-in-law, Mary Auman of Pasco, Washington; and one granddaughter.
