Graveside funeral services were held for Joseph Daniel "Joe Dan" Talley on December 12, 2020 at 2pm at the City Cemetery in Burkeville, Texas.

Joe Dan was 91 years of age. Born to William H. and Anna Vale Talley September 3, 1929 in Leesville, Louisiana.

He served two year in the Army. Joe Dan retired from Civil Service at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Though he held a college degree, he studied and was an avid reader. His passion was business and economics. A daily enjoyment was reading the Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, as well as other business periodicals until his recent illness.

He was a longtime member and supporter of the Methodist Church in Burkeville, Texas. He loved and enjoyed his church family.

He enjoyed his cattle and Talley Ranch and looked forward to visits with his cousins and friends each deer season at the Fin and Feather and Antler Hunting Club and camp where he regaled all with his tales of hunting and East Texas Family History. May will miss his tales on his Finacebook blog. His knowledge of experienced history was vast.

Joe Dan was preceded in death by his parents William H. and Anna Vale Talley and sister, Mable Ann Schweikert.

He is survived by a host of cousins and friends.
