Emma was the 2nd oldest of 8 children born to J. B. "Stag" Walton and Emma Mae Brantley Walton. She was educated in the Sumter County School System and attended Westside Elementary School in Plains, Georgia and Sumter County High School in Americus, Georgia. She joined the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia at a young age. She later united with First Albany Deliverance Cathedral in Albany, Georgia under the leadership of the late Apostle Isaiah Revills. She later came with Pastor Rosa Fowler to United Holiness Deliverance Temple in Americus, Georgia which is currently under the leadership of Pastor Michael Fowler.
She was married to Albert Lewis. She was preceded in death by her older brother, J. B. Walton Jr of Miami, Florida on December 15, 2020.
