Jeffrey R. Bailey, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI, after complications from an accidental fall. He was born on April 29, 1958 in Richland Center, WI, to Charles and Virginia Bailey (Gorski). The family lived in Lone Rock, WI until 1959 when they moved to Dodgeville. Jeff attended the special education class in Dodgeville grade school until moving to Sun Prairie with the family in 1970. Later, Jeff was enrolled in St. Coletta's school for children with disabilities near Jefferson, WI. He attended school there through his high school years and graduated in 1977. St. Coletta's assisted Jeff in training for and securing his first job at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee where he worked in the kitchen. After that, Jeff moved to Madison. Jeff married Carolyn Uglam in 1986, they later divorced in 2012.

Jeff worked for at Copps Supermarket on the west side for nearly 14 years, bagging groceries for customers, collecting carts in the parking lot and various other odd jobs for the store. He held several other jobs as well, some of which included Tony Franks restaurant, Blue Moon Bar and Grill and the Williamson Street Bakery. Jeff’s most recent job was with the City of Madison Streets Division where he worked since 2016 helping with their battery recycling efforts. He loved his jobs and always looked forward to going to work.

Jeff was a very social person who loved bowling, karaoke on Mondays, cards on Fridays and his church Lakeview Lutheran on the east side. Jeff especially loved family gatherings, party get-togethers at his apartment building and visiting his sisters when he could. He loved country music and could often be heard singing to himself as he worked. Jeff enjoyed trips to Nashville and Branson for all the country music he could get.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, mother and grandparents. He is survived by his sisters, JoEllen (Doug) Weier of Hammett, ID and Pamela (Gary) Anderson of Lakeville, MN, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles.
