June’s pride and joy were her children, until she became a grandmother in 1981. Her grandchildren quickly became her whole life. In 1988 June moved from Guymon to Oklahoma City, to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed attending Special Olympics to watch her oldest granddaughter compete in summer games as well as watching her second oldest granddaughter perform in dance recitals. As the years went on she was able to attend other events her grandchildren participated in, such as band competitions, swimming competitions and so many more. Watching her grandchildren grow was the highlight of her life. Her life peaked in 2013 when her first great grandchild, her “Angel Baby” Rachel was born. The love between the two of them was beyond measure. The memories she left us with, and the hearts she touched are many. She was an amazing mother, and an outstanding grandmother. Her absence in our lives will leave a hole that will never be filled. May her memory never be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Elmer and Carrie, her husband Jimmie, her sisters, Viva and Rita, her brothers, Leslie, Vernon and Olli (infant).
She is survived by her sister, Cloana McKean, daughter, Terri Booth, sons, Gerald Carter (Will), Dennis Carter (Raven). Her Grandchildren, Kristen Booth and Hayley Russell, Stephanie Downs, Matthew Carter, Tanner Manning, Katie Short, and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you wear a mask, social distance, and wash your hands, so that other families might not have to experience this great loss.
Private family services will be held.
