PEORIA – Esther Jane Harris, age 89, of Peoria, IL died on Friday, December 25, 2020 within Liberty Village of Peoria. Esther was born on August 2, 1931 to parents William Edward and Ada Jane (Farrand) Blasek. She married William “Bill” J. Harris on July 4, 1950 in Springfield, IL.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; sister, Betty Reid; brother, William E. Blasek, Jr.; and daughter Kathryn Jane Hessing.
Esther is survived by her son, William (Denise) Harris of Washington, IL; daughter, Karen (Tim) Schloz of Peoria, IL; grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Harris of Washington, IL, Greg Harris of Gilbert, AZ, Amy (Brad) Catton of East Peoria, IL, and Tim (Katrina) Schloz of Wyoming, IL; great-grandchildren, Cody Michael Harris of Washington, IL, Haylee Catton of East Peoria, IL, Madisyn Catton of East Peoria, IL, Colton Catton of East Peoria, IL, Taylor Harris of Gilbert, AZ, Avery Harris of Gilbert, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
Esther graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield, IL. She attended Grace Presbyterian Church where she took pride in teaching Bible School for over thirty years. Esther dearly loved her family.
Private services are to be held. Interment will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
