Barbara Jean “BJ” Fox was born November 16, 1935, in Council Grove, Kansas, the third child of four born to James Huston and Bertha (Hale) Miller and passed from this life December 24, 2020, at Weatherwood Assisted Living at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 8 days.

BJ spent her early years from first grade thru high school in Council Grove, graduating in 1953. In 1954, she met and married Floyd “Buddy” Fox in Wichita. As Buddy finished his degree at Central State College in Edmond, BJ worked in Oklahoma City but was awarded a PHT degree (Putting Hubby Thru) by the college.

The small family grew by two, Brian in 1956 and Leisa in 1959. Weatherford became their home in 1963 where they worked side by side in business for many years.

BJ was an accomplished seamstress, proud of the fact she wore out 3 sewing machines for herself, children and grandchildren. She proudly crafted a white tuxedo for her 4 year-old grandson when he was named Weatherford’s very first “Little Mr. Weatherford”.

After Buddy’s death, BJ became a resident of Weatherwood Assisted Living Center until her death.

BJ leaves two children, son, Brian with wife Stacy; daughter, Leisa; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many friends.

As per BJ’s wishes, there will be no services.
