Linda Marie Burks, 73, of McAlester, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at her residence in McAlester.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery officiated by Rev. Monte Busby. Burial will follow.
Pallbearers will be Jack Pingleton, Rick Pingleton, Dylan Pingleton, and James T. Daniels.
Linda was born on August 19, 1947 in Haileyville. She was raised in Haileyville and graduated from McAlester High School.
She married Virgil Carl Burks on November 12, 1965.
Linda was a homemaker. She raised her children and helped raise her granddaughter, Lindsay. Linda especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Linda enjoyed playing bingo. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; and she would always provide anything to her family that was needed.
Linda is survived by her children: Tonia Burks of McAlester and Robin Clifton of Tulsa; grandchildren: Lindsay Fry of McAlester, Jordan Clifton and Jarett Dee Clifton, both of Tulsa, great-grandchildren: Allison Marie Fry and Ava Grace Fry; brother: Jack Pingleton and wife, Cindy of McAlester; brother-in-law: Ronald Burks and wife, Susan of Savanna; and sister-in-law: Darlene Steel and husband, Jimmy of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother: Eva Joy (Willis) Gibson, husband of 54 years: Virgil Burks, sister: Carolyn Daniels, and brother: Jimmy Dee Pingleton.
