Nettie Pearl McCullen, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

Pearl was born in Sampson County on August 12, 1933 to the late Nassie and Nettie Brock Barefoot.

She attended Snow Hill Church of God. Pearl brought joy and love to everyone she met. She will be sorely missed here on earth, but we take solace in the fact that she has now rejoined the love of her life, Robert Glenn McCullen.

A graveside service celebrating Pearl’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in the Eureka Cemetery with Rev. Jackie Ham officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Attendees are asked to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.

Pearl is survived by her children, Kenneth McCullen and wife Sheila of Saulston, Jimmy McCullen and wife Chrystal of Pikeville, and Donald (Peanut) McCullen of Fremont; seven grandchildren, Robert McCullen and wife Tiffany, Robbie McCullen, Brian McCullen and wife Stephanie, Tina Beamon, Jessica Meisenhelder and husband Randy, Ashley McCullen, and Steven McCullen; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Ruth Harris; and brother, Gene Barefoot.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Earl Barefoot, Stewart Barefoot, Jackie Barefoot, Alice Jarvis, Bell Thompson, Louise Hargrove, and Glinda Harkert, and a daughter-in-law, Crystal McCullen.
