James V. Brennan passed away on Thursday December 24, 2020 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 81.
He was born and raised in Irvington. James was a lifetime resident of Lake Hiawatha for 53 years.
James proudly served his country with the US Army as a Tank Operator in the Armor Division from December 3, 1957 until being honorably discharged on November 19, 1959.
He was a Conductor for NJ Transit in Hoboken until retiring in 2002.
James was a proud volunteer firemen for over 40 years for the Lake Hiawatha Fire Department District #4.
In his past time, James enjoyed meeting “The Boys” at the Spa for coffee every morning, he also loved to play the guitar and sing. You can find him on YouTube at Laid Back Jim. He was also talented with oil painting. He truly adored his family and friends and absolutely loved to make people smile and laugh. He sang to anyone that would listen and always had a joke to tell.
He is pre-deceased by his wife: Judith A. (nee- Holland) who passed away on 11/21/2019 and his daughter: Susan who passed away on March 26, 1986.
Survivors include his son: James E. and his wife Lisa; his daughter: Eileen M. Brennan; his brother: William and his wife Diane; his sisters: Carol & Mary; his four grandchildren: Michele Seekamp, R.J. Hadley, Jessica Brennan, and James W. Brennan; his four great-grandchildren: Summer & Brooklyn Seekamp, August & Liberty Jones.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Liturgy of Christian Burial 10:00am Thursday December 31 at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church 179 Baldwin Road, Parsippany. Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
