L.D. Young, well-known farmer and livestock feeder of this community, died early Monday morning, October 17, at the Missouri Methodist Hospital where he had been a patient for a week. He had been ill for two years.
Logan Douglas Young, son of Isaac B. and Willietta Hodges Young was born west of Quitman, MO, on December 31, 1881. He had lived at the present home northeast of Skidmore for ten years.
He was married September 27, 1905, to Jessie R. Johnston of Quitman, who survives him. Also surviving are a son and two daughters, Byron D. Young of Skidmore, Mrs. W.D. Mathews of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Mrs. Earl Limpp of Mound City; two brothers, Russel B. Young of Maryville, and Curtis Young of Ellsworth, Kansas. There are seven grandchildren.
He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge of Quitman.
The funeral was held at the Price Funeral Home at 10:00 o'clock Wednesday morning in charge of the Rev. Wm. H. Thompson of Craig. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville.
