Billy Wayne Turner,88, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Wichita Falls with his loving daughter by his side. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Deerinwater officiating. Visitation will be held at 10 AM Wednesday before the service. Billy was born on October 30, 1932, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Arthur and Ruth Turner. He grew up loving the outdoors, playing with two older brothers, and working with wood making beautiful pieces of furniture. Billy went to Wichita Falls High School and loved playing football for the Coyotes, helping them successfully win the State Championship in 1950. After high school, he went on to pursue a degree in Geology at Midwestern where he excelled in fieldwork and data collection learning about our Earth’s structure. After college, our military needed his help. Answering the call, he joined the United States Army working as a missile launcher and radio repairman at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Billy married the love of his life, Peggy Kilman on August 5, 1954 in Wichita Falls, TX. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Toni and Bruce. After his time in the military, he went into the insurance business selling life insurance for National Life and American General for the next 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed buying, selling and remodeling rental properties. Survivors include his daughter, Toni Campbell; three grandsons, Hunter Campbell and wife Victoria, Tanner Campbell and Connor Campbell and fiancé Payton Darity; four great grandchildren, Adaline, Caleb, Ryder, and Blair. Billy also leaves behind his nieces Cindy Dolan and husband Tom, Michelle Wheeler and husband David, nephew Randy Turner, all from Wichita Kansas and niece Vicki Essary from Wichita Falls. He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Turner of Wichita Falls, Texas; his first wife Peggy; his mother Ruth Turner Bradley Whitehead; brothers, Richard Turner of Wichita Kansas and Leo Turner of Wichita Falls, Texas.
