After being discharged from the Navy, he and Andrea Dowd were married on October 19, 1968 in North Hollywood. They migrated north during their marriage, finally settling in Chico in 1984.
Pete reenlisted in 1976, joining the California National Guard. He was a member of the 112th Engineering Company and was called up to assist during earthquakes, floods, and fires.
Pete worked for the California DMV retiring after 30 years of service. During his retirement he and Andrea traveled extensively, adding to their many wonderful lifetime memories.
Pete passed away on December 19, 2020. In addition to Andrea, he is survived by their children Rachel Eccles of Chico, Justin Petersen of Chico, and Sarah Bruschi of Lafayette. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren who he adored- Aubrey Eccles, Addysen Badame-Petersen, and Zane and Martin Bruschi.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Veterans or the American Cancer Society.
