John L. "Jack" McDonnell, Sr., 86, of Upper Hanover Twp., passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Cora (Long) McDonnell who died in 2008.

Born in Skippack, PA, he was a son of the late Lorne and Josephine (Stauffer) McDonnell.

He was a self-employed dairy farmer, managing the family farm for many years.

An avid Philadelphia Phillies' fan, he enjoyed attending their spring training camp in Florida, traveling, taking bus trips and cruises, and most importantly, spending time with family.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Essick and her husband Ed of Pottstown, his son, John L. McDonnell, Jr. of East Greenville, two grandchildren: Jason Schlupp and his wife Jessica, Kristina Lamanga and her husband Danny, two great grandchildren: Ryan and Hunter, two brothers: William McDonnell and his wife Joan of Harleysville, Francis "Frank" McDonnell and his wife Janet of East Greenville, three sisters: Doris Stahl and her husband William of Loysville, Helen Slack of East Greenville, Nancy Waddell and her husband Wendell W. of Coopersburg, and his companion and "Sweetheart", Phyllis Bittenbender.

Services and Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Limerick Garden of Memories.
