Billy "Bill" Sullivan passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020, at the age of 90.
Bill was born in Shivers, MS on October 16, 1930, the son of Lem and Susie Blackmon Sullivan. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he married Marie Champion and lived in Pascagoula, MS where he worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He then became a self-employed cabinet and home builder. After the birth of their third child, they moved to Vicksburg, Marie’s hometown, where they lived until 1982. Bill and his family moved to Shivers and enjoyed many years of country life, gardening and caring for livestock. In 2015 Bill and Marie retired to Vicksburg, MS. Bill was a member of First Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ruby Sullivan McManus, W. T. Sullivan, Pat Sullivan, Charlie L. Sullivan, Pert Sullivan, Johnnie Sullivan, Ollie Mae Sullivan Westmorland, George Sullivan, and Cecil Dale Sullivan.
He is survived by his wife Marie Sullivan; sons, Darvin Paul Sullivan (Ginger) and Billy Dwayne Sullivan (Samantha); daughter, Theresa Brooks; siblings, Peggy Sue Sullivan, Lois Hembree, and Jerry Sullivan; six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Glenwood Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dathan Tipton and Rev. Michael Fields. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at New Hope Cemetery in Shivers, MS.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Kenny Westmorland, Brad Westmorland, Randy Sullivan, Kevin McManus, Farron Darbonne, and Don Sullivan. The honorary pallbearer will be Bryan Stegenga.
