Jimmy Paul Dixon was born in Bonham, TX on March 2, 1956. He was the son of Grady and Mary Ann Bush. Jimmy passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Wilson-N-Jones Hospital in Sherman, TX following a short battle with COVID-19. He was a staple in the Town of Ector for his entire life. From the time he was old enough to walk, he spent a lot of his time at the family service station, ran by his father Grady. After graduating high school, he worked there and then succeeded his father, Grady, in running it for over 20 years.

Jimmy attended Ector United Methodist Church, and he was a member of the Ector volunteer fire department for over 30 years. Jimmy was the Assistant Scout Master for the Ector Boy Scout Troop for over 20 years, where he assisted Lynwood Hogue, and later took over, in running the “Monkey Bridge” at every boy scout event at Camp Dierks in Oklahoma. He also served on the Ector City Council for several years.

In his spare time Jimmy loved to fish, especially for crappie. He was even known to close the station down early to make sure and get to his fishing spot on time, in the spring, when the crappie were spawning.
