In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Ruth Ravencraft, Marie Fugitt, Helen Clay, and Doris Bowman; brothers Bob Barker, William Glen Barker, and two half brothers Donald Barker and David Barker.
Pearl and her family moved to Ironton when she was in the 2nd grade, at Lombard grade school she meet her lifelong best friend Treva Wilson. She loved her companion animals, and had ice cream every night before bed! Pearl was a faithful and active member of Sydenstricker Methodist Church and then First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Ironton High School in 1944 and was the homecoming queen. During WWII she volunteered at Lawrence County General Hospital as a nurse’s aide. Her earliest jobs were at the Foster Stove Company and the Ironton Tribune newspaper. She retired at age 70 from First Federal Savings and Loan of Ironton.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday December 29, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery with Pastor Sam Peters officiating. A memorial
celebration of life will be held later in the spring or early summer of 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harvest for the Hungry Food Pantry and/or the Ironton Pet Shelter (Lawrence County Humane Society).
