Virginia A. “Jean” Harper, age 81, of Wilmington, DE, went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 4, 2020. Jean and her husband, Dan ran a successful towing, automotive, and salvage yard before owning and operating Liberty Gas Station (complete with hotdog and water ice stand) in Wilmington. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church (which later merged with Pleasantville Baptist Church)
Jean is survived by 4 children: Tony Harper (Cathy), Donna Breenan, Scott Harper, and Shawn Harper (Tina); stepson, Dan Harper (Mary); grandchildren: Danielle, Brandon, Aaron, Michael, Danielle, Christopher, and Katie; and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest “Dan” Harper; parents, Charles and Clare Carroll; and sister, Peggy Able.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, services will be private followed by burial with her husband at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
